Not For the Faint of Heart
I've been happily piecing a gazillion pastel HST's that'll finish at 1 and 1/4". That's right, one and one FOURTH. I decided it might be a good idea to piece a block or two to see how it's gonna feel. *Hours* later...
I know they'll get easier, the first few outa the gate always feel slow and tedious, but MAN! who signed me up for this project??

Very soft colors...5" is good. Who's the boss here?!!! ;0)
I hate to state the obvious but 4 times 1 1/4"finished is 5"finished (5 1/2" raw) so your blocks are exactly as they should be. Well done! They look great.
I will agree with Jane above - your blocks are just as perfect as they can be. The INSTRUCTIONS or whoever said "6 in." were wrong.
They are so dear, small, delicate, very nice.
