Wildlife in the Computer Lab

This week I'm clerical and technical support for a five-day math institute sponsored by my organization. Each morning I'm camped out in the computer lab with my department laptop doing my thing until the groups of teachers receiving Professional Development come into the lab for the hands-on portion of their day.

Yesterday in the morning I had the door open to catch the cool air. A swallow found his (her?) way in and swooped and dove around the room for quite awhile. How beautiful! I turned off the lights and opened the door wide and soon he found his way out. I was glad for that.

This morning I saw a slight movement out of the corner of my eye and found there was a Jerusalem Cricket galumping its way across the floor. When we first moved here these things used to *totally* creep me out. Now I just scooped it up on a piece of newspaper and threw it outside.
I wonder what will visit the lab tomorrow?

Adorable creatures! Lucky you they wanted to visit! I think it is supposed to be "good luck" to have a cricket visit!
